There is always something visionary about the creations of Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten who have been an inseparable artistic duo for almost thirty years. It is something that transcends the initial cue and becomes the material for a deeper exploration of the dancers’ bodies and their capacity to become a social message. WE, the EYES thus represents the second stage of a cycle and a reflection on the future and the unpredictable changes that lie ahead. Amidst the fast-paced rhythms of the chanting and drumming, the dancers of the ICK ensemble trigger a sort of tribal ritual punctuated by the ambiguous words of a monolith/oracle: they thus become the symbolic protagonists of a post-pandemic humanity exploring the horizons of an apocalyptic, unprecedented and unpredictable world.
