Over time, the Emio Greco-Pieter C. Scholten partnership has transformed into an artistic dyad, where the boundaries between the Brindisi-born dancer and the Dutch light designer can no longer be distinguished. In such deep harmony, their research explores the human being from sharp perspectives and wide-ranging projects. One such project is Apparition, the first part of a diptych inspired by Mahler’s Songs on the Death of Children and investigating the little child in all of us, whose gifts of spontaneity, innocence and curiosity usually disappear. The pièce digs for our lost sensory intuition in a visionary score for seven dancers, a pianist, children’s voices and digital technology. Music by Franck Krawczyk, once again collaborating with Emio and Pieter.
