The RIC.CI Project (reconstructing historical contemporary choreographies of the late XX century) returns to remind us “the way we were”: this time it revives The Riot of Objectsby La Gaia Scienza, a cult group from the ‘70s. Its three founders, Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, Marco Solari and Alessandra Vanzi, now bring their first work (dated 1976) back on stage with three young performers. Inspired by the tragedy in verse “Vladimir Mayakovsky”, The Riot of Objectscomes alive in a surreal space—co-designed with painter and sculptor Gianni Dessì—featuring stringless violins, overcoats, a gun and a red star: a poetic map of symbols and allusions, narrating the utopia and the pain of the transformation of the world, and the longed-for ghost of freedom.
