Ancient gestures and traditional knowledge flow onto the screen in a story that combines epic and timeless narratives: it’s the traditional Sicilian puppet theatre, an artistic heritage handed down from generation to generation. The audience is taken on a journey through the extraordinary world and the many characters of epic-chivalric literature, the favourite setting for the Opera dei Pupi. They will discover the magic of the workshop where the puppets come to life: the skeleton, the sculpted heads, the exquisite armour… At first, the original music by Giacomo Cuticchio, a mixture of winds, strings and keyboards, will be the only guide to our imagination, but then, thanks to the video, the paladins, the ladies, the steeds and even their battles, loves, deaths and magic will take shape and colour.
