Anything but an ordinary quartet: for twenty years the Signum Saxophone Quartet has been demonstrating how the sparkling fusion of four top saxophonists can move freely and rigorously through very different eras, contexts and musical styles. Their passion has led to the creation of original pieces for saxophone quartet as well as new arrangements of orchestral pieces, from baroque to rock. With their choreographed way of playing in a semicircle, the Fab Four of the saxophone can breathe new life into any repertoire, as they will demonstrate with the selection they chose for their return to the Ravenna Festival: the late romanticism of Grieg, the Americans Gershwin and Barber, the Argentinean Piazzolla and the Vietnamese-American composer Viet Cuong.
