The Wall is not just one of Pink Floyd’s most successful albums: The Wall is a manifesto, a pop opera that transfigured social consciousness through psychedelic sensibility, becoming one of the most fascinating ‘concept’ albums in rock history. It’s an ambition, a desire to break down barriers and tear down walls, whatever they may be, which the present production entrusts to a choreography and a dramaturgy that reinforce the sense of entrapment and confusion of Pink, the protagonist of the story. Rejecting the pre-established roles imposed on all members of society in a not-so-distant sci-fi future, we are taken on an adventure that immediately plunges us into the dystopian whirlwind imagined by the band in 1979 – visionary, of course, but prophetic nonetheless.
